Audacy Leaving TuneIn Again.....and Triton Digital

Access any Audacy station on TuneIn or the stream itself on a stand alone player, and it starts with a message "this stream will soon be avaliable only on The Audacy App" This is a huge blow to both platforms, losing this many stations. The company's new streaming provider is amperwave.net and all the new streams are in place. I was able to pull the one from 1010 WINS in NYC and it looks like this (beware, it's iffy on a standalone player)

Interesting, thanks for this!

Lately the TuneIn (streamtheworld) stream for WPHT has been running the same few PSA's over and over and over in pairs, often six of each PSA per break. Needless to say that's unlistenable.

The Audacy stream that's still working: https://prod-54-210-221-143.wostreaming.net/audacy-wphtamaac-hlsc.m3u8 ... works in a standalone player (VLC for example) but it delivers separate segments so it's necessary to enable, "loop all," so the stream won't stop at the end of each segment.

The new stream you provided acts the same. Both are choppy during the breaks, I think because VLC is too slow to start playing the new segment. But either one is much better than the streamtheworld stream.

TuneIn is ON LIFE SUPPORT unless someone like KSE buys it (And GOD KNOWS Stan Kronecke has enough money to do it)

Its definitely NOT on life support, especially when they continue to add new unique stations like Jeopardy! Radio and just today, a station for Univision's top TV shows.

I hope Audacy finally fixed their app so it is not limited to new phones. Assuming they have or had junior devs that tend to want to code only on the latest libraries and do not do compatibility testing for older generation phones.

It has been awhile but I remember playing around with the Tune-in app on different old devices and had no issues. Which makes sense since you do not want to limit your audience.

The biggest issue I have with TuneIn is that in the last few months they have started inserting ad rolls every 30 minutes right in the middle of programming. Listening to Time Warp with Bill St James a few weeks ago, it cut right into music and one of his host breaks.

Audacy owned stations seem to have a new streaming URL that as of now I cannot get on one of my wifi internet radios. Does anyone know the new streaming URL of these Audacy stations (I think its an AAC or MP3 file): WMJX 106.7 Boston, WTIC 1080 Hartford, WCBS 880 New York? There's probably a pattern of code they use for the URL of the station.
