B22 Note Of Interest: Telediffusion de Algeria

Check this out, this is Telediffusion de Algeria for B22
B22 Schedule of TDA

Notice something?
Look at A22:
A22 Schedule of TDA

The Issoudun relays are gone.

before their recent use, im not sure theyve been using their algerian site at all, at least that im aware of....... so this "test" a few months ago, was more then a test.. it was a "Readyment" if you will of their new use of the site in Algeria.

For what it's worth, i havent heard any of the Issoudun relays in awhile, the late night/early morning stuff on 7 and 9mhz bands was audible here and quite well.. i cant recall havent heard it at all in awhile

And if you look at the Telediffusion Algeria facebook page, theres been ALOT OF upgrading of their broadcast infrastructure in the last year.. theyve documented it with pictures and director visits to the sites

There have been a bunch of recent items in SWDX forums about reception of the new transmitters in Algeria...apparently 300kw Ampegon units. I’ve heard them via the UTwente SDR.

RTA has been using Issoudun for many years now, though in the more distant past they had their own transmitters within Algeria. I’d have to dig through my old radio stuff to see when the original transmitters went out of service.

Programming is still in either French or Arabic, aimed at northern and Western Africa.

There has been speculation that RTA might revive some of their long dormant longwave outlets. The currently operating 252 kHz facility was supposedly updated a few years ago.

Looking forward to seeing what B22 brings for TDA and my reception of them
