St Louis gets Chiefs, Packers, and Bears, but how much demand is there for NFL pre season when the Super Bowl had lower ratings compared to other places? St Louis only has a Chiefs radio affiliate
Omaha also doesn't have a Packers or broncos radio affiliate, only a Chiefs radio affiliate, Lubbock has a Chiefs radio affiliate, what are the restrictions on radio for the NFL?I have always found Omaha curious. They don't have a Vikings radio affiliate, and are outside of the territory that is guaranteed to get most Vikings games, but get the pre-season games.
Didn't stop WSPA in Spartanburg from going up against Lawrance Welk on WLOS...and it lasted longer, till 1992!This may have been mentioned already, but I think there were three NBC affiliates in Iowa
that carried "Hee Haw" Fridays at 6:30 and delayed "Sanford and Son" to the same time
on Saturday. After all, going head to head with Lawrence Welk on Saturdays 6-7 in Iowa
would have been suicidal.
WSPA is where I watched "Hee Haw". WSOC delayed it, I think until the next Thursday.Didn't stop WSPA in Spartanburg from going up against Lawrance Welk on WLOS...and it lasted longer, till 1992!

WXYZ (ABC Detroit) cut away from baseball for the 3pm hour to show infomercials. Now that the bills (were) paid they (went) back in St. Louis.
It was a great game, but outside of hardcore baseball fans, it likely had no interest whatsoever outside Atlanta, Philadelphia and adjacent markets. Both NLDS series' are intra-division matchups with little interest outside their home territories.Because of the 3 & a half hour rain delay for Game 2 of the National League Division Series on FOX between the Philadelphia Phillies & the Atlanta Braves, primetime was preempted which featured The Masked Singer (which was shown in Canada on CTV) & Lego Masters. Interesting thing was, shortly after 8 Eastern, the official Masked Singer show Twitter account posted that they'd air the show after the game, but a short time later deleted it & stated they weren't. I'm not a fan of the show, nor am I a fan of The Masked Singer, but bad job by FOX leaving fans of that show hanging, heck not even Joe Davis, who called the game, acknowledged the viewers tuning in expecting the show & perhaps telling them when/if the show would air tonight. I understand & had no issues with FOX deciding to boot primetime tonight as a result of the baseball rain delay, but they should've done a better job communicating & letting fans know.
It will be interesting to see the effect the pitch clock will have next season. If enforcement is strict, the difference in the length of postseason games, especially, will be dramatic.Thankfully, this week, no issues with having to reschedule FOX primetime as it's airing, albeit on a 43-minute delay due to long NLCS Phillies/Padres Game 2. Clearly The Masked Singer is priority number 1 as had the game kept going past 9 Eastern & the Phillies did come back, Lego Masters would've been the first to go. I'm sure if preemptions had to happen again, we surely would've looked at the possibility of having a back-to-back to 2 episodes in a week of at least Lego Masters in order to get the series in before X-Mas holidays.
