Forever Flips the Nu's to Xmas

Forever flipped their CHR "Nu" stations (92.7, 93.7, 95.3) to Christmas as "Santa 92.7"

With the name switch, one can wonder if a new format will follow after X-Mas? Their Facebook page states it'll run until January 2nd, but makes no mention if the CHR format will be back

The Wikipedia page for WNUU says that there will be "a new format to launch on January 2, 2023", but that sentence's citation to a RadioInsight article does not confirm that claim. It does imply that there might not be a return to CHR, due to WNUU's abysmal 0.4 share in York, compared to WLAN at 2.9 and WWKL at 1.7. Seems like the market is just too saturated with CHRs.

If Forever was smart, perhaps a adult top 40 to go up against Warm 103. Ever since Fun 101.3 died, (which i miss ) it left Warm to be only adult station in area. Perhaps Fun 92.7/92.5 ?

WNNK would like to have a word with you.
(OK... their signal isn't GREAT in parts of York and Lancaster counties... but still)

I would like to see Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel take over 92.7. it does great in Chambersburg and Hagerstown. the only oldies in the entire area right now is WPDC-AM 1600 with not the strongest signal right now.

i apparently like the phrase "right now" lol

Gonna be syndicated AC from out of town...maybe a local morning show Fun 92.7 is not out of the realm of possibility. Or they could bring back the Happy branding. Who knows for sure? Bank on it. WARM's year of being the lone market adult station is coming to an end. Let the FUN and games begin.

102.9 in Carlisle is a good oldies listen. AC on 92.7 would take it back full circle when it was WHTF Starview, 92 Rock.

WHYL is primarily 60s 70s oldies with a smattering of 80s. 92 Rock was a CHR station playing the current hits. Not even a close comparison.

turn it back to smooth jazz 92.7 or an urban ac format like the groove on sirius xm or terrestrial whur fm dc or wmmj fm in dc.

It's Forever, so whatever it is it will be 10-20 years behind on sounding new and fresh and will likely be a whole lot of Westwood One.

RadioInsight.com now confirming that WNUU has applied to change to WPPY. Perhaps "Happy 92.7"?
Happy 92.7 indeed! I didn't catch the swap, but they're now playing what sounds like an "80's to now" adult contemporary mix. Just heard Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You", John Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane", and The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears".
