Fútbol de primera Radio on TUDN

This is the first time I get to listen to FÚTBOL DE PRIMERA RADIO La Radio de el mundial on TUDN. Andres Cantor has been one of my favorite soccer narrators in Spanish. Much better than the guys who narrate soccer games on Univision. I mean the guys on Univision do a very good job. But I still enjoy FDP radio more. Is Andres Cantor still on Telemundo or is he back on Univision??

Does Univision pay for the rights of the World Cup on radio? Or does FDP pay Univision to be allowed on their stations??

Andrés Cantor is still on Telemundo, which has the Spanish-language TV rights to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Fútbol de Primera, which has the Spanish-language radio rights to the World Cup, is a separate company from TelevisaUnivision.

Peacock will also be carrying all World Cup games in Spanish.

Ok, but Futbol de primera doesn’t own any radio station. Does Televisa/Univision lease air time for FDP? Or do they acquire the rights to transmit their programming?

Apparently, your local TUDN affiliate's carriage of FDP programming was the result of a local decision. WADO, the TUDN New York affiliate, is still airing TUDN programming.

I’m assuming since here in Texas we have more Mexicans than in New York. I wonder if California did something similar too.

FDP is available for free for 1 station per market. When 850 went away univision jumped on it in Houston and picked it up. Its been in kyst and on 850 in the past . Doesn't mean anything and univision doesn't pay for it or get paid to broadcast it .

When you start a new post, please list the stations involved. I had to Google TUDN, just to find out the call letters and frequencies of any Houston affiliates.

TUDN had been mentioned Lots here already. KLAT 1010 am, KLTN HD2, KAMA HD3, KQBU-FM.

But, not in this post. One shouldn't have to search and view older posts, just to find the call letters and frequencies.
I figured since most of the fine people who post and comment on this website work in the industry the name would have been enough info. I don’t work in the industry and to me it is easier just like to us radio listeners it is easier to know radio stations by names than by callsigns or frequency.

You tell them put the radio on KLOL would be harder to know what you’re talking about than saying put it on MEGA .

I am watching the Qatar-Ecuador game on Telemundo, but I just checked WADO, NYC's TUDN affiliate, and they are carrying Fútbol de Primera's radio coverage.

Well, I wonder what the ratio is visting and commenting on this board are listeners vs the amount of broadcasters. The broadcasters would definitely know what KLOL represents. More importantly, it should be done as a courtesy for all.
