Terrestrial radio vs. Sirius Radio?

In what ways have you noticed that terrestrial radio differs from Sirius radio? I noticed their hits channel plays things that are more cutting edge than terrestrial radio and a lot more "deep cuts" for classic hits stations and alternative. Your thoughts?

How many posts before this thread somehow mentions or leads us back to the subject of EDM? Asking for a friend...
Or alternative rock or AAA.

For the record, it's SiriusXM.

Since I was a subscriber to XM during the 2000s, I found it annoying when someone leaves out XM whenever they talk about the current satellite radio company.

But.....but.....why doesn't 60s Gold play everything that made the Hot 100 from January 1, 1960 to December 31, 1969 and why do they sometimes play a song from 1970?
But... but... wasn't it recorded in 1969? Let's take that one to Kalendar Kourt because knowing the precise year is so very important... 🧐

People pay for Sirius. The music channels are not advertiser supported. So they don't care about ratings or demos. They have over 100 stations in every market. FCC ownership laws restrict terrestrial owners to a max of 8. If terrestrial radio operated under the same rules as satellite, things would be very different. Compare public noncommercial radio to Sirius. Better comparison.

Or broadcast TV vs Cable

You can swear on Cable, show T&A on cable, have channels devoted to nothing but home renovation, cooking, and playing with cars

Hard to do that on OTA TV

I had to run home to NH for a day, I dropped my SXM sub in the car I leave there since I only use it 4 months out of the year.... and I can use the SXM app for free..... when I was out and about I tried listening to local radio .... I then realized why I paid for a SXM sub for a car I barely use..... cripes WCAP-AM's sound had one good mic and the second mice sounded like it was 50 feet away from the person who was talking.

Sirius/XM doesn't have anything I want. You have to listen to six or seven different channels to get it all, and even then ...

That doesn't even count classic country, but I think they have the classic country that I want.

Tbh I don't have a need for satellite radio, I'm alright with classic old FM. I guess I'm old fashioned but LA has some kickass stations to fill my needs.

Nothing will have everything you want unless you stream your own playlist.

But some people will find a channel they really like.

One station in Charlotte NC would have made a great Sirius/XM channel and of course I told Sirius/XM but there's little chance they'll take over that station's collection. WHVN, now Spanish Christian, came back on the air in 2020 in order to not be off the air too long to be able to sell the station and it was a nice treat for us, except it didn't stream and the signal was unlistenable where I live. I only heard it in the car when I was close enough.

Siriusly Sinatra, Escape, 40s Junction, 50s on 5 or whatever they call it now, Sirius/XM Love or whatever it's called, and maybe a couple of others have some of the songs, and some of those stations would have songs that I didn't really want.

Well, let's talk sports for a second.

WHO on Terrestrual Radio (Other than CBS Sports Radio / BetQL Network) does ANYTHING CLOSE to what Sirius/XM Channel 88 (Sirius/XM NFL Radio (Basically NFL Network Radio though I don't think the NFL itself is the content provider anymore) does with the "Sunday Drive" (Which is vasically like listening to NFL RedZone but on Radio rather than on TV)??
