KRRT Channel 35 (now CW affiliate KMYS) signed on as San Antoniot's first English-language independent general entertainment TV station. Prior to the launch, San Antonio was the nation's largest TV market without an independent station. The launch was originally scheduled for Monday, November 4, but bad weather delayed it for two days.

Okay. I knew it wouldn't be call letters, since it doesn't start with either 'K' or 'W'. I thought DABL was initials. I just looked up the Wikipedia article.
 
KRRT was apparently trying to run on the cheap -- I notice that their entire daytime schedule from sign-on until 5 PM is entirely bartered or paid programming. Nothing that they had to pay cash to air until after 5 PM
