With all the millions spent and the hassle of displacing lots of signals statewide in order to upgrade and getting under 2 (6+) ratings, was it worth all the trouble?
WPYA's ratings are even worse this period (Nov '22), with WAGG-AM and three FM translators drawing higher numbers. I could be wrong, but I think these are the worst numbers WPYA has had in the almost seven years time the station has been doing hot AC.

Yes. Station is more valuable now being a bigger market with more ad revenue potential than being in a smaller, more rural area where ad $ may be hard to come by.
Summit has the top 4 stations (6+). I haven't been near enough to the Majic City to listen to any of their stations in a couple of decades. Just shooting from the hip, could 97.3 be considered a "flanker" for WBHJ. If done correctly they would have similar sex and age demos?
This was never a rural or move in. It was one of those ins from the nineties.. Here's the chess moves from around the state to make the upgrade happen.
