WQIO signal post HD Radio upgrade

Good evening,
To me it seems that 93.7 WQIO's signal is a little better here in Franklin County after their HD Radio upgrade. Is it me? Just curious if anyone else has noticed a difference.

what you had the other day was tropospheric ducting which can improve fm signals due to the atmosphere
 
It wasn't tropo. It was typical flat Ohio conditions and I'm not too far outside of their 54 dBu contour edge which isn't enhanced much in good conditions here as it is a semi-local. I suspect my homebrew Moxon FM antenna is working better for some reason because I went back a couple of days after the post and other signals were higher. It is my prototype antenna and does that.
I've been a prolific DXer since I was a kid. I've had FM E-skip from as far away as Albuquerque and Calgary, Canada (about 1700 miles) and had FM tropo as far away as Aberdeen, South Dakota here in Central Ohio.
I do miss the analog TV days of sitting on channel 2 waiting for WPBT-Miami to start floating to know there was some E-skip starting up. I've also received Cuba on channel 2 and 3 back in the day. With our digital TVs it just is not the same.
Anyway, I've seen stations that are neglected hire a good engineer and get their transmitter and facilities back up to snuff and thought that happened here rather than just adding the HD equipment. WLUP-AM in Chicago was quite the example when Steve and Gary's company bought the property back in the 1980s.

WQIS isnt owned by IHeart, its owned by BAS BRoadcasting.

WQIS? Who dey? If you meant WQIO, I don't know why I was thinking iheart owned them. Brain fart. Maybe cause last few times I listened to them it sounded like it had the same playlist most iheart stations do. Granted, I really haven't listened to them for any long length of time.

That's okay "Yab" IHeart owned them over 12 years ago. For over 50 years after the Zelcowitz family who founded the station owned it, then was sold to Ashland Broadcasting, then I Heart and then the current owners, BAS.

Their music logs and voicetracking are via Westwood One Local (Cumulus) so that’s probably the source of the confusion.
