Comcast and Nexstar in a dispute?

Just checked the website of WATE in Knoxville, and yes, they have the Second Coming font telling us "Comcast is threatening to take away WATE!!!". There goes the NewsNation promos on our lineup LOL.

I thought this seemed so familiar and thus had just been in the news but after doing an internet search I realized the dispute in the fall was between Verizon and Nexstar. Here we go again…

How is everybody not on to this by now? "Evil cable company is going to deprive you of______" and then the parties settle it.
I was thinking the acceleration of smartTV's in the house too where there are TV apps like Paramount+, Disney, Hulu, Peacock, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Tubi. I thought these contract disputes is going to speed up sales of those devices in the home or offices. Also the average audience may not have the ability to have traditional Cable due to the equipment that's available today.

At WWLP, Nexstar's Springfield, MA NBC affiliate, the website's urgent Comcast notice encourages viewers to "demand that your ABC station remain on your channel line-up." Does WGGB know about this?

Probably meant for WTNH New Haven, CT? WTNH is the Nexstar owned ABC affiliate in New Haven TV Market. But ABC itself has been putting promos during NBA games and ABC News Programming have been showing that some of the ABC Shows are released on Hulu and Disney+.

What’s going on?

WTNH has a contract with COMCAST that allows them to deliver our programming to you. If a new agreement is not reached, COMCAST might remove WTNH from your schedule. WTNH has presented a proposal for fair value based on the importance and value our programming brings our viewers. Despite our tireless efforts, COMCAST has refused our fair offer and is making negotiations very difficult. Our offer is fair. And now they may hold you, the subscriber, hostage. It’s not right.

All my programming will be lost?

All of it. NO ABC college football, NO Grey’s Anatomy, NO Station 19, NO Bachelor In Paradise, NO News 8. All Gone.

Actually, good point. When a main channel is lost to a dispute, do its subchannels also disappear from the cable lineup?
The subchannels go away as well, when Tribune went dark on Spectrum in Jan 19 Antenna TV & ThisTV Fox17 .2 & .3 went dark.
