I'm not a big NPR fan but in all my travels around the USA I've never one of their 'theater' programs. And I thought GOO was more a country music show than theater. Some NPR stations still do radio theater. Prairie Home Companion was based on that idea. So is the Grand Ole Opry on WSM.

Ritchie Valens was born and raised in Los Angeles.Richie Valens?

When I first listened to the Grand Ole Opry via the WSM app a few years ago, I thought that it sounded more like A Prairie Home Companion than a typical concert. It was due to my knowing that the show took place at a theater and the atmosphere of the show itself. It's an old time variety show, with all kinds of music, comedy, and even an occasional square dance.

Pérez was from Cuba. Prado is is maternal surname.Prado was from Cuba.
I just checked out several lists. It definitely seems that no performer born in Mexico has had any impact on the charts here. All the "usual suspects" were born in this country or, as in Perez's case, another country that isn't Mexico. Hard to believe!"One of the best and most successful bands to emerge from the musically fertile ground of East Los Angeles is El Chicano."
The were Angelinos, not Mexican. Still no answer.
Pérez was from Cuba. Prado is is maternal surname.
Trinidad López is a Dallas native. Richie Vallens is a Valley Boy from LA. Damaso Pérez Prado was Cuban. Santana, Carlos Santana was, indeed, born in Mexico. ? and the Mysterians were originally migrant workers from Michigan who followed crops in that state. Ronstadt was born in the US.? and the mysterians, richie valens, trini lopez, premiers, prez prado santana but on the newer end of the spectrum, off the top of my head, I know there are many more, well lets say some were mexican american and some were mexican born and raised. Oh half of Linda Ronstadt lmao.
