Giants or Patriots?

OK, if you live in Connecticut, here's the deal the Giants and Patriots games are on the same channel at the same time (unless you're in SW Connecticut and you can get WCBS-2 you can see the Giants) WFSB-3 is going with the Patriots, so there many unhappy Giants fans here to put it mildly, so which game should channel 3 pick?

As of today, all of New England, save for the areas of western Massachusetts in the Albany market, and SW Connecticut in the NYC market, are getting the Dolphins/Pats game on CBS. The New York-based markets are getting Colts/Giants. WFSB won't switch unless there's a big enough scream for the other game.

Impossible situation for WFSB. Both teams are deeply flawed and, most likely, need a victory this weekend to remain relevant on the final weekend. That they are probably playing for the right to be annihilated in the wild card round of their conference's playoffs is irrelevant. Giants and Pats fans want to see their team make the playoffs where, theoretically, anything can happen.

I am in eastern Vermont, less than a mile from the Connecticut River and New Hampshire. On cable, though, our CBS affiliate is WCAX, in Burlington, across Lake Champlain from New York. Do we get Colts-Giants (like Albany) or Dolphins-Pats (like Manchester would be getting if it had a CBS affiliate)?

I know 506 sports and their color maps for years, thanks anyway.

One time there were two separate big games on the same time (Red Sox & Yankees) well WTIC 61 carried the Yankees and (I don't think this was legal) they had their "sister station" carry the Red Sox WTXX 20 (I think they were only allowed one choice)

The Giants just need to win to get in to the playoffs. Not sure what the Pats need to secure a spot.

Win this week, for sure, and other teams' losses or ties may clinch their spot before next week's Buffalo game. I believe wins both today and next week will get them in no matter what any other team does. Here in eastern Vermont we are getting Dolphins-Pats as the only early game, and Vikings-Packers and Jets-Seahawks in the late slot. No joy for Giants fans, but they're not as big a factor here as they are in Connecticut.

The Giants could have clinched last week had they won. So I'm fairly certain they just need to win one of the next 2.

Thanks to losses by the Detroit Lions in Carolina and Seattle Seahawks in Kansas City, the Giants are still in a win-and-they're-in situation next week when they host the Indianapolis Colts. Washington (7-7-1) also lost later in the day in San Francisco to help out New York.

I see you're a Yankees fan as I am, however I'm also a lifelong Redskins/Commanders fan

Where I live we get WCBS-2 from NY but is Standard Def, which if I were a Giants fan, beggars can't be choosers, however most of the state only receives WFSB-3 and will not be happy considering the possible wild card possibility. Vermont is an interesting situation, it has a huge border with NY, in Brattleboro I found tons of Giants fans, they have Albany TV so imagine it's Giants in SW Vermont.

Both the Patriots and Giants are on CBS at 1pm. I assume both games fall under "regional coverage". I'm not sure if local affiliates get to pick the game they want or if the NFL decides for them.

Up until a couple years ago, the Jets and Giants NEVER played in the same time slot. One would be at 1pm and the other at 4pm (or a night game). Same thing in the Bay Area for many years with the 49ers and Raiders. That has changed now with all the "flex" scheduling.

The NY Jets vs Seattle game is on FOX at 4pm. That's another thing that changed. An AFC team would normally have been on CBS when visiting an NFC team. Those broadcast rights have been divided up differently now...

Giants and Jets and 49ers Oakland made sense, same market, but Hartford isn't part of either, thus the dilemma here. Home markets are required to carry the home team, no matter what, WFSB can carry just about any game they want on the CBS schedule. Thank goodness for the Red Zone, I get to see some of the Commanders and Browns.

I'm a bit confused here. Brattleboro is SE Vermont, not SW, about 60 miles down I-91 from me. Our designated network affiliates are from Burlington/Plattsburgh (NBC, CBS, Fox) and Manchester (ABC). Does Brattleboro get those stations on cable or Springfield and Hartford stations? Or does it get Albany TV despite being much closer to Manchester and Springfield? SW Vermont (Pownal) getting Albany makes more sense than Brattleboro getting it. Here in the Upper Valley we get no Albany channels at all.

Sorry CT Listener, I mixed up Brattelboro with Bennington (I think Brattelboro gets the Boston stations)
