National News Tonight?

Forgive me if I’m late to the party, but how long has Cox Media been running their “National News Tonight” show on WSB? I randomly happened to catch it on at 1:07am right after nightline tonight.

It looks like they take segments from other Cox media group stations and run them for half an hour. It’s hosted from Atlanta at WSB but I couldn’t find any info about it on WSB’s website nor online elsewhere.

It feels like Cox is dipping their toes in the water to possibly pursue something similar to NewsNation from Nexstar.

Obviously this is not the same historical Cox because they had a history of trying different concepts in different markets than spread them across their core stations (radio and tv) This new Cox is buying up stations and spinning off others so the make up of the company now has nothing to compare anything to

Sorry for the necro-bump, but I just discovered this news program on Redbox's new channel on Roku.

It's basically a clone of NewsNation and/or The National Desk from Sinclair. Not bad for what it is. Newsy has a good look and feel at first, but after you watch it for awhile, you realize you're watching the same thing over and over. (In all fairness, the same can be said of Sky News and France 24 on Roku.) NewsNet is just painful to watch.

Yeah it’s not bad but I find it odd that it is not advertised at all either by the station or reporters and it’s on at a random time at 1:06am.
