KING 5 signal

Anyone else have issues getting KING 5 over the air? This been going on for about two months here. Super terrible signal.

KOMO signal is 63, orange to green. Solid.
KING is 8 to 17, super low. No picture.
KIRO is 38 to 46, decent enough to lock a signal that doesn’t drop out.
KCTS is 58 to 63 solid.
KSTW is 70, green zone. Very good.
KCPQ is low, but that’s off another direction that it ain’t pointed in.
KONG 16.1 sucks too. 13 to 20. No picture.
KONG 16.2 is solid. 71 green zone
KONG 16.3 sucks. 6 to 10. No picture.
22.1 is 70 to 74. Solid
22.2 is 70 plus solid.
22.3 same.
33 is super good at 83 green zone.
44 is great 70 plus solid green zone.
46 is super good too at 80 plus green.
51.1 is bueno. 63 orange to green.
51.2 kinda sucks. 31 to 38.
51.3 same, sucks. 31
56.1 the best of all 91 full green.

Tried turning outside antenna and stuff. Cable is new. KING and KONG used to be 47 to 54 and good. What’s going on with that? Xmas lights fall on the antenna or on low power or something? Like damn.

Probably something in your area that's causing multipath reception to your location. Doubt it would be something with the station.

Something just showed up in the last two months or so? Like a new water tower or building? Station was solid before. That’s why I posted here to see if anyone else had similar issue. None of the other stations have lower signals. Tried relocating the antenna pointing different etc. King is still way way down from before. Maybe something transmitting near their frequency stepping on it in the area. Anyone else have similar issue?

I've made some guesses about the RF channels for your list of display channels. The fact that you are getting 33, 46 and 56 quite well says that you are out here on the Eastside somewhere, maybe Issaquah or Eastgate. Those transmitters along with an RF 18 translator for KIRO are on Tiger Mt. Surprised that you are not getting a better signal on KIRO from that RF 18 translator but maybe you are picking that up instead of their RF 23 from Queen Anne Hill. Since you are getting a signal from Queen Anne with reasonable strength (RF 30) KING should also come in about that well.
My guess is that you have a bad feedline that is being affected by the rain since it started about two months ago. I would replace that first and see what happens.

Feed line is brand new(ish) and weather sealed with that black goop tape. Not going to rule out water but why would it effect only KING when all the rest are exactly or close to exactly as they were? Could be some frequency specific anomalies that rain moisture only effecting one specific station but not others. And only on my system? Have you noticed any change to the KING over the air signal lately? Maybe I should ask that without all the other info. Have you noticed whether or not KING signal has changed for the worse lately? Thanks for your responses.

Getting KIRO via the RF 23 transmitter, it’s pointed toward Seattle. The big signal stations are apparently up on Tiger Mountain and Cougar according to another post. I can pick those stations up with a piece of wire. Channel 46 isn’t quite that strong but is one of the better ones. Too much info, just need to know if anyone noticed changes to KING signal.

Signal level for KING is back up to the similar level as KIRO RF 23 here. Didn’t make any changes to antenna, other than trying to peak the signal or coax. Antenna was already in the best spot direction wise. It was way down at 7 to 10 level, now back to 35 plus. Appreciate the responses, this board doesn’t get as much traffic as the others. Figured a reception inquiry might help that a bit and get a question answered. We’ll see if it stays. Happy posting!

Edit that last one, I adjusted the antenna for peak signal and it turned out that it already was. Left it alone after. KING was still 7 to 10 signal, then checked yesterday and it was back to 35 plus. No coax changes made. < that’s the part of the post that seemed odd when I read it after posting, I didn’t peak the coax. 🤣.
