Adam Kaufman - WBZ

I noticed that lately Adam Kaufman is doing more reporting - not necessarily sports - on WBZ 1030. He no longer anchors morning sports.

Does anyone know if this is temporary, or is it a new direction Adam is taking?

Although I just heard Dan Watkins on sports this morning.
Dan Watkins has been anchoring morning sports the past several weeks. If you heard Adam at all, he was filing a report during the straight news segment, though the story itself usually has a connection to sports.

And now, lo and behold, Chris Fomma, who used to anchor sports on weekends and now does straight news reports, has been anchoring sports mid-day on WBZ, in between Dan Watkins (morning drive) and Brian Antonelli (afternoon drive).

I was hoping someone who either knows Adam personally, and/or works for iHeart, could shed light on this.

It's Dan Watkins, listen to him at midnight during the week
Gosh darn it, I guess the only voices I can truly tolerate on WBZ are the women's voices: Laurie Kirby, Madison Rogers, Shari Small, Susanne Sausville, Brooke McCarthy.

But really, for "yelling", you need to listen, if you can, to JIM MCKAY mornings between 5:00 and 6:00. The guy is super-caffeinated.

I literally though this post said ANDY Kaufman. That would have been great if he was still around doing news for WBZ.

From what I have heard (sources in iHeart), this is going to be the way things are moving forward. Adam is getting traction on social media through his videos. It’s nice to see him on Instagram telling stories.

Nicole Davis is one of my favorites. A nice breath of fresh air. Calm and relatable. I like Madison too, but I miss Karen Regal. She was one of a kind. I hope she lands somewhere soon.

OMG, how in h*ll did i forget Nicole Davis??!! I like her knowledge and delivery a lot. She ranks uo there with Ms Kirby.

Thank you for pointing out my glaring omission. (y)

Over the past year or so, his morning sportscasts were not just an account of the previous night's scores; he'd tell a different story - more like an analysis or commentary - during his allotted time slot. So, obviously, this is something he's wanted to do for a while.

I've often wondered whether Adam was offered the opportunity to move over to 98.5 The Sports Hub when CBS broke up the WBZ family in 2018. Given Beasley's reputation for "frugality", I now wonder how THAT move would've worked out for him.
