My wife asked the same question. My thought was: it's not that expensive to just run a transmitter and rent the tower space.

Interesting that my car radio displays "Religious talk" when I tune to 92.7....helloooooooooo KREV, anybody home?
Is this a new development? In San Mateo the signals a bit weak so it never shows.
I really hope not, haha.
I fully admit that I know nothing first-hand, but...
a). It's possible that the radio in your vehicle is caching the most recent RDS signal it received on 92.7. At one time it was religious talk, and if they simply turned RDS off your radio would show the last info received.
b). Given the current operator and the tenuous state of the situation there, they probably don't have anyone on the payroll to do sales.
