Hartland, VT

WFRD, Hanover, NH, mostly current hard rock, with some alternative and classic rock tracks.

Meriden, CT

Splatter from classic rock WPLR (99.1) New Haven.

East Tennessee: Either WPBX, Crossville, TN or WNRX, Jefferson City, TN. WNRX was at one time simulcast with 990 and 99.1 as part of the Sports Animal. Citadel or Cumulus tower-danced WNRX and lowered the power to 250 watts to move 99.1 into Friendsville to be closer to Knoxville, and after a period of silence, sold WNRX to the existing AM station in Jefferson City, where it now serves as a strictly local station.

Retro/other: Dayton, Ohio, nothing with powerhouse WHKO on 99.1. Celina/St. Marys, OH area. I was not aware of an allocation for the Lima area on 99.3, even in more recent visits, but WVVO is a K-Love station, and that would be what one would get, along with WCJC, Marion, IN.

Wilmington Delaware

Usually splatter from local WJBR 99.5 whose transmitter is 5 miles to my N. On rare occasions I've heard Classic Country WOWZ in Accomac VA when Tropo is in full effect.

Tyler, TX: Regional Mexican "Mega 99.3" White Oak, TX 34kW/165m

Another Mega 99.3 here in Yakima, KMGW Naches (Classic Hits). Prior to January 2019, it used to be rhythmic oldies, 'old school jams', and I still miss that old format very much. 702, TLC, Vanity 6, Barry White, rare-ish Prince, Bobby Brown, Destiny's Child, etc. all aired on that station. It was very similar to KMGV in Fresno, another MEGA station on 97.9.

The KMGW signal gets out relatively well for 790 watts, I've heard them out to the south Kennewick highlands before.

To the north is KDRM Moses Lake (Hot AC), and to the west is KDDS Elma (Regional Mexican). Both of these can be heard in the nearby Cascades above 4000' or so.

In Ellensburg, it was a weak mix of mostly KDRM and a little KMGW.
Heard on Es from Ellensburg - KKBB Bakersfield (with the SAME format that KMGW used to have - rhythmic oldies...it was almost like a time warp), and K257GM Iola KS (KIOL-1370) 250W with news talk...it was during a decent opening to the Wichita/Manhattan area.

What does WNRX program these days? I can't receive it at my location, and last time I checked they didn't have a stream or any kind of web presence.

Basically a hodge-podge of random music. Kind of a "Jack" with no direction.
These types of stations should be airchecked. Are there lots of oh wow's, B-sides, deep tracks, etc.? There's a whole bunch of stations that I need to roll tape of (even for 30 minutes passing through town) if I go on my scheduled April trip to Montana. One that interests me is KTNY in Libby, 101.7 FM. Website says they play 'soft oldies' 1960s-90s. That sounds like a locally-based format to me, but when I went through north ID last year, KLER-103.3 Orofino (no website) just uses the Westwood One AC feed with local news/farm reports at noon. Blah.

I can't tell you I've listened for hours at a time. The mix is interesting, a little strange but not of the "everything that was ever recorded from the beginning of time" variety.

Sounds like a station I used to listen to occasionally in Connecticut, WSBS in Great Barrington, MA -- a mix of adult contemporary, softer classic hits and a bunch of well-worn oldies, but nothing of an "oh wow" nature. Just safe, unspectacular tunes to get you through your day. And yes, this AM has an FM translator, which is where I suspect most of the listeners choose to listen.

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):
Usually splatter from local 99.5 WJBR from Wilmington DE.
Tropo brings us WZBZ from Atlantic City and a couple of others.
