Im 26 but whatever.
Are you a woman?
Im 26 but whatever.
And radio shows are a topic of conversation among all women you know? Which in itself isn't a representative sample of anything.Im 26 but whatever. The most improtant periods of a radio station is during the day not 7. I'm saying is that i would perfer if the station went automated after 7 instead of delilah. I don't know any young woman who cares about delilah
Delilah is not done live. As someone else on RD who's familiar with her show explained, she sits in her home studio and takes one call after another, her producers then grab the best ones, edit them for air and they're generally used in the following night's program. Stations that air her show have 2 options: 1) They can take her show complete, with both the callers, banter and the music selected by her staff, or 2) They can take the bits with the callers and banter, and insert music from their own libraries and play lists. Either way, it's either run as an automated program, or similar to a VT show.I'm sure Delilah is automated, not live in the evenings. So the station would be automated in the evenings, even when airing Delilah.
It's not really "automated". As Mikey nicely explained, the show, in several different music content versions, is "assembled" from Delilah's calls, her comments and imaging.I'm sure Delilah is automated, not live in the evenings. So the station would be automated in the evenings, even when airing Delilah.
Minor point of order.. "Beautiful downtown Burbank" was Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. Carson's intro was "Frooooom Hollywood! The Tonight Show staring Johnny Carson..."the way Johnny Carson was introduced as "Live from beautiful downtown Burbank...."
I wondered about that... there are many search results that credit it to Carson. That, in itself, shows how much inaccurate "stuff" is out on the Internet in such a quantity that it becomes reality.Minor point of order.. "The Gong Show" was always introduced with "From Hollywood ... almost live!"That's because Carson would explain that they're not really in Hollywood, but rather Burbank, and then make fun of Burbank.
I believe both shows, The Tonight Show as well as Rowan & Martin's Laugh In originated from the same location: 3000 W Alameda Blvd in Burbank.

That used to be on my bike route, but I like riding by the Disney HQ better, where the 7 dwarfs hold up the roof. Also from the same building on Alameda in Burbank. I've been there many times.
I assume not that many people are listen to radio at night anyway. It would make no diffrence if they Just have no on air persoanlity and just play music until jen and bill came onI know, I think it's funny that CassChopper96 keeps suggesting they automate after 7pm when they already are.
Never met Delilah but I live just across the water from her on Vashon Island. Odds are we have probably even been on the same ferry boat going to or from Seattle for occasional business or travels.
Or run the show that has been a successful enough program on many, many stations in your format because it does have appeal to the primary audience. And then run overnight music. Which seems like a better business proposition when you disregard whatever weird personal hangups one may have?I assume not that many people are listen to radio at night anyway. Fewer people listen in night hours than 6 AM to 7 PM, but it is a gradual decline from 7 PM to midnight, with each hour having less until most people go to bed.I assume not that many people are listen to radio at night anyway. Rock from the 60’s thru 90’s was literally the best music ever recorded, makes sense why they lean toward the rock direction so they do well. There's a whole thread on this subject. They re-branded over the summer.
The rock lean is very common among classic hits stations around the country. Why? Because rock attracts younger demos.
... only if you like rock. Not everybody does.Rock from the 60’s thru 90’s was literally the best music ever recorded...
