Not all CW stations will carry Liv Golf

For Sacramento that is interesting that Hearst owned KQCA is airing LIV Golf given that KQCA is notable for being a secondary NBC affiliate in the area just in case KCRA-TV goes to breaking news or NBC Sports coverage.

Parts of this is due to Nexstar Owned KTXL is the Sacramento area's Fox Affiliate and it's current contract with Fox Sports

Same as KSWB in because the Daytona 500 is a high profile sports event

We're a CW Plus market, so the LIV Golf is cleared here (Yakima WA).

Unless Nexstar or Hearst buys a TCT station in both the DM and Memphis markets to clear MNTV.
No TCT KC area for Nexstar to buy but would give them a secondary channel to show programming on and no need to combined KMBC/FOX4KC but sharing KCWE/FOX4KC maybe just Newscast.

Hearst clears the Liv Golf telecast but Fox has College Basketball and NASCAR's Daytona 500

The Chicago situation has nothing to do with CBS or Tegna. CW affiliate WCIU is owned by Weigel Broadcasting. WGN is owned by CW majority-owner Nexstar. WCIU has some other sports conflicts for some weeks, CW wants consistency in coverage, plus wants sports on WGN, so put it there. Plenty of CW promos today for shows that run on WCIU.

I could imagine how Nexstar might pull a Fox/New World Alliance with significant affiliation switches

Unless LIV received higher ratings and better coverage than its rival PGA, and for some reason The CW gets any of the rights to a big major sports league (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, etc.), I highly doubt any of Nexstar's "big four" stations would replace them with The CW.

On a side note: the reason why Fox was moved back in the mid-90s was Fox outbid the other networks for the NFL's NFC coverage.

If that did happen who would Nexstar pick in all of this. I understand CW Affiliates managed by Paramount would lose their affiliation in this scenario? Does Nexstar or their affiliated license holder like Mission Broadcasting have to get stations like KSTW, WUPA and WTOG from Paramount.

Fox might be the other "wild card" if they wanna get a duopoly in the markets of Detroit, Tampa, and Atlanta (the latter both owned by Paramount) aka WADL, WTOG, and WUPA. In Philadelphia they might partner with Nexstar to jointly acquire the assets of WFMZ (Nexstar for the news department merging with WPHL while WFMZ's station license goes to FOX, and WPHL joins CW replacing WPSG while WFMZ joining MNTV). Also Nexstar nearly reached the 39 percent limit plus UHF discount unless they sell some markets like Sinclair attempted to sell thru their failed bid for Tribune Media.
