So, any word on if Audacy shut down any additional HD multicast streams? I've heard it's happened in a handful of markets this week.

In Dallas it didn’t seem so besides KLUV HD3. Houston nothing shut down yet. WNEW HD2 in New York City shut down Tuesday

Oasis is gone as well. As is Smokin’ Oldies, Classic Trax, and the classic country on Jack’s HD2.
There was "smooth jazz" on KVIL-FM HD2, country on KJKK-HD2 and classic rock on KLUV-HD2 this morning. KLUV-HD3 is indeed gone, which I assume means the "Smokin' Oldies" format is gone.

This is just only my experience on the app - all three have been replaced with some sort of a stream-exclusive channel.

I just listened to KLUV HD2. They are still calling themselves "Smokin' Oldies", but it almost sounds like they are blending Classic Rock with Oldies now.

I just checked, as well. The only subchannel that has been removed so far is KLUV’s Classic Trax on 98.7 HD3.

KJJK HD2 was coming back from a stopset of PSAs, but they still have local liners, saying “Classic Country KJJK HD2”. 103.7 HD2 is still IDing as “The Oasis”. And 98.7 HD2 seems to be “Smokin’ Oldies”, but their jingles say “It’s that good time oldies feeling…Oldies Radio!”. With 98.7 HD2, there’s no local customization at all.

Another thing…with all of the Audacy subchannels, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a local ad. On 98.7 HD2, 100.3 HD2 and 103.7 HD2, it’s always just PSAs. With Channel Q on 103.7 HD3, they usually fill stopsets with a handful of songs that aren’t in Channel Q’s normal rotation. I’m not quite sure about 105.3 HD3 or 107.5 HD2 and HD3, but I’m guessing they’re the same way.

If this is what’s happening in other markets, of course Audacy isn’t making money on the subchannels! I understand that they can’t bill the same amount as the primary channel, but at least they could make some ad revenue. Some would be better than none.

The bulk of the listening to those HD subchannels is through the app. Advertisers buy the entire app. If Audacy sells the same way the others do, they buy the online spots in blocks of 1,000. Each unique impression probably gets Audacy 3-7 cents.

So they don’t play any actual advertisements within the over-the-air content, while other companies do? That doesn’t make sense at all.

Not living in Dallas anymore, I can't tell you what aired on the over-the-air content. You're the expert there since you listen (or listened, as the case may be) at least occasionally. I can, however, tell you the Oasis stream on the Audacy app aired advertisements. I quit setting my alarm to wake up to it because it aired too many for my taste, in fact!

Over the air, at least for quite a while now, they’ve just been playing PSAs. I have The Oasis on now and their last commercial break was all PSAs. I’m not sure if this is because they’re planning on dumping the subchannel, but I don’t think I’ve heard any actual advertisements over the air.

Also, when Channel Q signed on, it was a direct feed for Los Angeles for quite a while, with just dead air where the local ID was to be inserted. Once they got everything working properly, they just filled over the air ad slots with filler music. I never heard any local commercials on there. A couple of nights ago, the filler music didn’t play and there was an ad for a car dealership in LA.
