WKNR signal

Quick question for you Clevelanders ... is work being done on the WKNR towers? I noticed Sunday afternoon that WKNR was barely audible here in the Columbus area, and that remains the case today to the point that here in Pickerington, an east suburb of Columbus, all I can hear on 850 is static. Usually, WKNR is the second-best out-of-town signal behind WLW.
WKNR's day pattern sends a huge lobe in our direction, but it's always disappeared at night, which makes me think they are on their night pattern for some reason.

WKNR calls remind me of the old Keener 13 in the Detroit area back in the 60s and 70s.

Got a feeling some works is being done as relative who lives near Cleveland mentioned the same thing.

It sounded fine in Akron and Canton when I was up there for work Friday and Saturday, as well as on 71 heading toward Mansfield. I noticed the slop on 860 was nothing compared to usual, and by the time I hit the north side of Columbus, WKNR was gone completely.

That jibes with my listening experience. They sounded good day and night in Akron and Canton when I checked, or at least how they should sound in those areas.

That's WNIR, this is WKNR we are talking about.
D'oh! My bad, brain fart....just juxtaposed a couple of letters. Must not type before being fully awake.
I haven't really checked lately but in my neck of the woods sometimes WKNR sounds like it's broadcasting from the back seat of my car and other times sounds like it's coming from another planet.
