Can Cumulus hire them for KNBR?

Depends. Does Cumulus have money to acquire any new talent? I'm under the impression they're in headcount-cutting mode, not acquisition mode. OTOH, non-compete clauses are no longer legal in California, so the only way Audacy can exercise any residual control is if they honor existing contracts and pay Bruce and/or Ratto until their contracts expire. In that case, they're still Audacy's employees and can be required to sit out those contracts on the beach. If the contracts are up, or if they were at-will employees, they can go across the street immediately, assuming there's a job available.
