Another AM has turned in their license. KESQ-AM had filed to sell the station to KGAY PSP (licensee of KGAY 1270 Thousand Palms) but the sale was canceled.

Was the sale cancelled or did they just take the translator and cancel the AM?
The sale was withdrawn on 2/7/23 and the license was returned to the FCC today. I do not see that this AM station had a FM translator.
Can iheart can boost San Diego's The Patriot 1360 to widen it's signal day and night?
Whats that have to do with this station?
KESQ is on 1400, iHeart might boost it's nighttime signal since The Patriot is on 1360 40 signals less
This is a separate market. A San Diego advertiser has no interest in being heard in Palm Springs.
I did not see the tower yesterday while near Madison and Miles, so I think this is totally gone now.
To clarify, there is more than enough channel separation between 1360 and 1400, that it's not a factor. It's the other stations on 1360 that determine how much signal coverage is possible (i.e KPXQ 1360 Glendale, AZ).
As well as adjacent channels on both sides.
Land was sold in September of 2022.
