Kinda surprised to see KTVT that far east. It was on the bird then but mostly, as far as I was aware, on cable systems in west Texas and Oklahoma and not really anywhere else in the country.
But very cool that at least a few people in South Carolina could watch Texas Rangers games and World Class Wrestling on Saturday nights.

I'm reminded here of some cable system in remotest West Virginia in the 1980s (I want to say Lost River in either Pendleton or Hardy county, but I wouldn't swear to that) that got its networks, or at least CBS and NBC (probably close enough to get WHSV ABC OTA), from... Toledo, Ohio. Evidently those were the easiest ones for them to get, or they had just one satellite dish that pointed at whichever satellite got the Toledo stations, or whatever.

I don't think I dreamed this, I know I saw it somewhere.

Charleston and Wilmington stations (except for WUNJ-39 PBS) have disappeared entirely from MB cable, but to this day, it is easier to get stations from either city within MB proper, with a decent antenna, than it is to get the "locals" that have their sticks out at Hamer SC (near South of the Border). With the former, you have either a water path or very low-lying shore area, whereas the signals from inland have to come over circa 60 miles of terrain that, while flat, is all land.
