LPFM and Translator musical chairs.

Looking at FCC Data it appears the LPFM currently located at 94.1 WGRN-LP has received a CP to move to 91.9 and relocate to a tower off Groveport Rd/104.

NABCO's Translator currently at 95.1 currently W236CZ has a pending application to move to 94.1 from the same tower site (as 95.1) but increase to 250 watts. This would give "Star 95.1" a slight boost and make the folks up in Delaware happy that it will no longer interfere with 95.1 WVXG. The NABCO app for 94.1 was filled 1/26/23 and is still pending approval.

My gut feeling is the LPFM at 94.1 was 'helped' to move to 91.9 so NABCO could ask to move their translator to it's frequency.

I don't know about NABCO but I heard that the LPFM lost its tower site.

Interesting - they (94.1 WGRN-LP) share a tower site right now with the translator at 98.3 that rebroadcasts another LPFM (92.7). WGRN's "studio" is from what I understand also located in the same suite as 92.7/98.3 so I thought they were all "buddies." In fact, the websites for both WCRS-LP 92.7 and WGRN-LP 94.1 list the same "address" for their studios.

Many of the LPFMs in Columbus seem somehow related but I've never completely figured out that relationship. The 98.3 translator (W252AY) recently changed hands from one LPFM group to another but it still rebroadcasts WCRS-LP. If WGRN-LP lost its tower site then W252AY also must have but I've not seen an application to move it.

I think 102.1 is in with them somehow as well. Like you, I am not sure how.
96.7 WJVG isn't related to any of them as far as I can tell.

Anyone have an update on the North American move?

The app to move 95.1 to 94.1 still shows "accepted for filing" at the FCC database. I am guessing once WGRN-LP moves 91.9 and files their L2C that the FCC can proceed on approving the NABCO move.

In other news, 94.1 WGRN-LP and 98.3 W252AY are both off the tower they were on in Columbus and both are off the air. WGRN has a post on their FB that their online right now with them moving soon to 91.9!

However as of this post nothing in the FCC database about a new site for 98.3 W252AY.

Tower is gone. Looks like 98.3 W252AY finally applied to move their translator to a location off Hudson St and increase to 250 watts which would give it a pretty decent signal in Columbus (way better then the LPFM it relays at 92.7).

Hudson Street? I thought they were relocating near Parsons & 104?

WGRN-LP is relocating to a tower near Parsons & 104. It's interesting that W252AY has not filed for an STA to be silent. I thought that they both went off the air at about the same time although they do appear to be owned by different organizations.

Thanks much. I'll be in the car for a while later today and will see what I hear.
Here in Pickerington, I'm on the western edge of that area that picks up WHIZ instead of WCRS on 92.7. Even a few miles west of me, it's the reverse.
