Yep 91x flipping to classic alt hasn't helped. Both alt stations are tied. I feel like a classic alt station needs to have a deep library. I think anyone that likes the format alot like me would appreciate that.

Let's here some sappy or breed by nirvana instead of teen spirit. Let's here some neds atomic dustbin w grey cell green or the mighty lemon drops with inside out.
 
I noticed in March during midday there was some stuff that got played that never does, same with weekends out of nowhere (stuff like Woman by Wolfmother, Left Hand Free by Alt-j, Telephone Operator by Pete Shelley, etc. there was a few days where they just added random songs (maybe like 6 a day). it stopped again.) i don't think it helped with the ratings but i don't know.
I honestly think one or two things should happen where 91X could easily jump higher in the 2's-3's. one: rotate more new music or bring back recurrents. two: play more classics.

idk. i'm just gonna keep requesting newer songs for fun. I got Taking Back Sunday's a Decade Under the Influence in on March 25th and Black Mambo by Glass Animals on the 13th ;)

as someone who knows everything on rotation thanks to tunegenie Punk Rock Girl is on linear rotation and Sell Out is on constant rotation.
Bitchin Camaro got played about 5-6 times since February 2022. Definitely needs rotation, same with other Dead Milkmen songs I saw on old radio record magazines in the 80s.
The Set Up would be cool to see from Reel Big Fish. 91X On Air Playlist is a useful site if you're ever curious what's being played.
 
But the only station getting traction with the classic alt format is the resurrected 99x in Atlanta. Why isn't it doin much elsewhere? Not in San Diego not in Indianapolis. Seems like it could be a successful format but i think for a lot of alt fans like myself you have to dig deep. Hits yes but also lesser known like breed or sappy from nirvana. Why don't yall think the classic alt format is doing that well not matter the market with few exceptions?

I’ve mentioned this on the Atlanta board.

99X is the only place in Atlanta to hear rock made after the year 1991. San Diego has modern rock pretty well covered with 91X, Alt, and KIOZ. There’s also KGB and Big for those who want the 80s side of things.

The station in Indy stinks. They only seem to play the same songs people were already tired of hearing on the low-rated Alt 103.3

Nah there's a lot of modern rock songs missing in action and the new stuff barely gets rotated. I'm just happy it's there i guess.
 
Chrocket1987 is absolutely right regarding 103.3 in Indy; their playlist is total garbage. 91X is so much better.
