This is nothing new for ABC. It happened with “Diff’rent Strokes” after NBC axed it while it renewed “The Facts of Life.”Jumping networks isn’t new of course. But this scenario, with the active spinoff remaining on one network while the parent show moves…now that seems a bit unique.
Once still makes it exceptionally rare given the sheer number of TV shows. More comical this time is the shared name. A bit akin to seeing Law & Order somewhere else while L&O SVU chugs along on NBC.This is nothing new for ABC. Buffy the Vampire Slayer moved from The WB to UPN in 2002 for its' last season while its' spin off Angel continued to air on The WB until 2004.Jumping networks isn’t new of course.
