DECADES NOW CATCHY

They took a perfectly good name and replaced it with an insipid one. Great shows, goofy-sounding name (as is Laff).

My guess is that they were trying to differentiate themselves from MeTV, and focus on one genre of programming, rather than being a "little bit of everything" like MeTV.

The sad part is that there's alot of comedy channels Antenna TV, Rewind TV, Laff, now Catchy Comedy they don't have that many drama channels or variety that decades offered like Me-TV offers comedy and Drama while Decades was a mixture of Comedy, Drama, Variety, News, and even a Soap Opera.

I feel your pain. MeTV, Antenna TV, and up till now, Decades, are like 21st-century versions of those glorious regional independents (WXIX, WRET before it went with NBC and became WPCQ/WCNC, WTTG and WDCA in the pre-Fox/pre-UPN days, WTTV, and so on), minus the movie lineups, basically rerun heaven. The comedies that Decades/CC does have are excellent ones, some of the best, and if they could be best comedy network out there, that'd be great... but, please, rename it Decades.

FYI, both MeTV and Decades/Catchy are owned by Weigel Broadcasting.

But I do get a kick out of how Weigel Broadcasting has turned what started out as a local station ID based on a pun into a very successful national service with MeTV. Because MeTV started as a low power TV station in Chicago that was the companion station to Weigel's WCIU-TV, which identified on-air as "U-26". So if you have a sense of humor, when you put a companion station on for U-26, why not call it "Me" so that you can promote your two channels as "U & Me"?

Considering that Weigel has the three subchannels it looks like that Me TV Plus and Catchy Comedy could be combined into one network.

Antenna TV is pretty much a joke. Their "programming" has pretty much been the same for the past 5-6 years, with the same shows simply playing musical chairs. For example, I believe Hazel is in its 12th or 13 straight year of showing two episodes a day (and 10-12 per week), which means that the entire series has been run about 35 times (probably more than that). I get that their budget is likely miniscule, but for God's sake, can they put ANYTHING new on the air?

The name may not be great, but the programming is far better overall. I'd rather that they dump The Love Boat and bring back Bob Newhart (both shows) at 1 PM PT, but that's my only gripe.

The programming is great. It's just that corny name, that's all.
