Transmitter Maintenance: On Monday through Friday beginning May 15th, WBAI Radio will be off the air once again due to maintenance at the site of our transmitter at 4 Times Square. We will be streaming a full day of programming at that time from past days. So .. Wednesday's shows from May 10th from 9am to 5pm will stream Monday May 15th from 7a to 3pm. Thursday's programs from May 11th will stream on Tuesday May 16th and so on.

Tower Payload is alot. I highly doubt they are all going to go offline for a week. Sounds like a WBAI/Pacifica related issue.
Most of those "big" station's FM antennas are auxiliary as backup to the ESB primary.
That’s because WBAI doesn’t have an aux. they’re cheap
And they do their maintenance during regular business hours. Only station I know of that does that.
Things like replacement of an existing transmitter, significant modifications of the one they have, rewiring of the transmitter power, etc.
Most companies in big markets would bring in outside engineers to do such work overnight in a team effort. This sounds like someone is doing a solo job... maybe a part-timer or contract engineer.
If it is an outside engineer or contractor, they likely have asked for full cash in advance, as Pacifica is known for not having funds for anything.
WBAI does have a "full service AUX" licensed on ESB. Whether it's operational that's another matter.
I wonder if that is dated, because WBAI lost a lawsuit with ESB. Here's a story from 2014:

Everything they do seems to be an ordeal.
4 days to argue with the engineer about payment. One day to actually do the job. Two days to see if the check bounces.
Engineer is cash only by the hour. WBAI has a daily withdrawal limit.
