Why don’t we have a WILD station?

I am listening to WILD 104 from the Valley and it sounds pretty good. Not sure what kind of ratings they’re getting over there. But would that format work here in Houston?? They play Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggaeton and Bachata.

McAllen/Brownsville/Harlingen is 92% Hispanic, predominantly later generation. So a station that mixes English an Spanish is a natural in that market.

I don't see bachata on the Wild 104 playlist. Bachata is an old "country" music of central Dominican Republic, not at all related to reggaetón and hip-hop.

They just played LA BACHATA by Manuel Turizo

That is by a Colombian artist with a reggaetón background. There will usually be crossover songs like the stuff by Romeo Santos and Prince Royce in CHR formats. However, any thing else more traditional just won't be played West of the Eastern Seabord and has zero appeal in Texas.

I know Karol G’s cumbia Song and Bad Bunny Regional Norteño songs are cross over songs. But Peso Pluma? I have heard some of his songs too.

I’m speaking of LATINOMIX 104.9. Why would they add does songs? Are they that popular as well for the format?
