How ironic, but yes I remember seeing Gene Scott's programming on weekends on KDOC.

And of course, KAGL 30 also carried Gene Scott. I think ours was one of the very few cable systems to carry ch 30 ( this was before the days of must carry- I remember looking at the newspaper cable line up grids and no one else had KAGL on their lineup)

It's a Christian station with a 10 thousand watt signal. They rim shot the antelope valley where I live. Are they ever going to play Christian music. Or just preaching? I remember when they first came on I believe they did have some type of music playing.

As I recall they switched to an “all talk” format many years ago.

At some level, nearly everything is "for sale", but I do not see KKLA being sold anytime soon, if ever.

KKLA is the station that built Salem into the company it is today. It literally funded and enabled the financing of many of the stations they have in their portfolio across the country.

It operates in what they call their "foundational teaching and talk" format. The "foundational" part in that description is because it is their longest-running and core format and they have stated in the past that they view it is a higher calling. KKLA is essentially Salem's flagship in that format. Los Angeles is the fourth largest evangelical market in the country and their teaching and talk stations in the three biggest markets are newer and either rimshots or AM.

If we were making a list of stations for a "sale watch", I would put KKGO and KJLH among others well ahead of KKLA.
