ATSC 3.0 now available in Birmingham

Will this make reception better? I'm in Montgomery, where the major stations are 35 miles away from town. It is very frustrating trying to watch via antenna in the middle of town. I think ATSC 3 is a long way off down here.Seven Stations Launch NextGen TV In Birmingham
WABM, WDBB, WIAT, WBRC, WVTM, WTTO and WSES are now broadcasting with ATSC 3.0 technology.
Since I haven't ponied up for an ATSC 3.0 TV or convertor, I'm not sure what the reception of their signals are like.
