What's new on 96.3 HD2?... WADO 1280 doesn't own Uforia

Latino Media Network will take over this new Radio WADO 1280AM frequency ownership and WADO doesn't own Uforia anymore like it did WBLS and Hot 97 doesn't own Emmis since 2019.

What did you think is coming soon to 96.3 HD2 in the future:

Que Buena: Solamente Exitos (Spanish AC)
Betty Radio (Spanish Classic Hits)
Mamí (Tropical Classic Hits)

or others.

LMN closed on the purchase last month and now has a contract with TelevisaUnivision to program the stations it sold for up to a year following the closing.

In any case, WADO did not "own" Uforia. "Uforia" is a marketing brand of Univision Radio.

And Hot and WBLS never "owned" Emmis. Other way around. Emmis was the full owner of those two stations and now is a part-owner.

Que Buena: Solamente Exitos (Spanish AC)
"Que Buena" is a regional Mexican brand.
Betty Radio (Spanish Classic Hits)
"Betty Radio" is a homage to Miami radio personality Betty Pino and is only relevant in that market.
Mamí (Tropical Classic Hits)
Too old, and unsalable... just like WZNT in San Juan, which is mostly 45 and older. And "Tropical" is not a term used in the Caribbean. The format would be "Salsa and Merengue" in New York, not "Tropical".

It is, but WQBU kept using the name when they flipped the format to Spanish AC, before they had sold the station.
Which was a mistake. There are names and terms that have different usages in various areas of Latin America. The best radio example is that "tropical" is a common term for Latin Rhythmic in Mexico, but not in the Caribbean. And in Colombia, where you have cumbia stations (old and traditional), Vallenato stations and salsa stations, each might be considered tropical but they are not named that way.

There is a Ke Buena in the DR, but from what I understand it is Tropical. But it does go along with the brand, as it calls itself "El Mujerón de Santiago".

In any case an HD2 with no translator is not going to be saleable at all, unless it's catered to an affluent niche audience like some Armenian HD2s are in LA.

Yes, Uforia shut down Mamí (Classic Tropical Hits) online along with:

Área 53 (Cubatón)
Becky G Radio
El Sancho (Corridos)
Jenni Rivera Radio
Planeta Rock (Rock en Español)
Trap Radio (Hip-Hop en Español)
Uforia Debut

The only Uforia radio online site are:

Amor Celestial (Spanish CC)
Betty (Spanish Classic Hits)
íKumbiazo! (Cumbias)
Qué Buena Nueva York (Spanish AC)

TUDN Radio owns LMN.

That's all.

I don't see Amor Celestial entering the area (due to obvious confusion with 93.1 Amor) and Betty is based off of Betty Pino who was in the Miami market, not the NYC market. It's either Kumbiazo or Qué Buena NY. Also, LMN isn't owned by TUDN, nor was the TUDN RADIO network sold when Uforia sold the stations.
