KSAN - Is it time to try something else!

KSAN’s been down consistently for the last few years. This April they’re matching KUFX in the San Francisco numbers, a station with (based on my admittingly limited research ability) about 40% of the population reach in listenable area as KSAN.

KSAN seems to be doing a lot right, with local talent and DJ’s and a playlist that’s experimenting a bit.

Maybe it's time to bring KFOG back. The gray ponytail crowd probably is still pining for it.

(and then, 150 posts later....)

I'd like to see some more classic rock stations return, as well as one more country station. The bay area FM dial is a mess (just my opinion).

While I do respect your desire, KSAN is a classic rock station, and competitor KFOX has very comfortable reach in the Bay Area for a San Jose station, matching KSAN in April’s ratings.

You can even get classic rock from KOSF now a days. I think it would be nice for the Bay Area to have a station like WMMR, KUPD, WRIF, etc. these FM’s do really well in ratings and at the very least Cumulus could try it out. Cumulus is no stranger to modern rock, like WFTK-FM who plays bands like Motionless in White and Falling in Reverse. Those do not often get played by other operators.
