Paul Harvey affiliates in your area

For my fellow Paul Harvey fans, what stations would you tune into to catch PH's broadcasts way back when? For me, I would catch News & Comment and the Rest Of The Story on WFMX 105.7 in Statesville, NC, which carried PH until Clear Channel took the station down. Other stations in my area that had him were WMCT 1390 AM in Mountain City, TN, WHKY 1290 AM in Hickory, NC and WATA 1450 AM in Boone, NC

"Hello, Americans!"
We carried PH programs on WASR (1420) in Wolfeboro, NH back in the70s and early 80s.....
News and Comment was aired, IIRC, at 12:30 PM.....The Rest of the Story at ~ 3:00 PM....
This was weekdays --- no weekend shows, as I recall.....
...........Good Day.......!!;)

My first starting for one, WCSM AM/FM, Celina, Ohio. The Paul Harvey TV segment was on WHIO-TV 7 in Dayton. I believe WIMA, Lima was a PH affiliate. Much later: WLW, WTVN, and WOWO. I know WLRW, Champaign IL stopped down a CHR format for Paul Harvey

WIMA was indeed a PH affiliate! There's audio on YouTube of a noon News & Comment he did on 10/24/1984 recorded off WIMA, complete with a custom sponsor plug for First Federal Saving & Loan of Lima at the beginning!

Also, how long did WOWO carry PH? I thought they had switched to CBS at some point in the late 80s or early 90s

I don't remember CBS on WOWO but I was out of the immediate area for a few years. They carried NBC Talknet at night in the late 80s. I remember PH in the late 90s/early 2000s on WOWO.

I will add WKPT 1400 AM and WTFM 98.5 FM in Johnson City, TN to this!

back in the 80's and 90's Paul Harvery aired at noon on WHHY AM 1440

KMGK 107.1 Glenwood MN *STILL* airs Paul Harvey reruns, even though he's been dead for many years.
Very old-school station, soft AC and standards, with 'no format'. 2,000+ songs in playlist, Twins baseball, lots of HS sports, Saturday morning shopping, church services on Sundays, even old-time radio nightly.
Plenty of other syndicated vignettes, like the Farmer's Almanac one, Lighten Up! with Ken Davis (normally on CCM stations), and BirdNote (normally NPRs and public stations air this one).

How far back are we going? I can remember my father listening to Paul Harvey on WFAA in Dallas, way back in the late 70s. In more recent years, his program was aired on KAAM.

Wooooooooooow! How did they secure the rights to air those old broadcasts?

$4.99 says they do not have such rights.

Anyway, my dad listened to Paul Harvey pretty religiously on Radio Indiana. WIBC/Indianapolis.

Good chance they recorded as many of his Rest of the Story stories over the years (tape, digital) and just kept them for the heck of it. Cumulus IIRC owns the rights and probably don’t care.
