Surprised The Fan is doing so well, considering the Padres have not had a fantastic season so far. Also surprised KGB-AM is still listed as news/talk and KLSD as sports, many many months after the two stations swapped formats.

sunny 98 point bland being at the top irks me, they must be stopped.
91X, UP THE NEW MUSIC and stop copying their playlist.

Seems to show KGB-AM as sports and KLSD as news/talk when I view the link.

I scratch my head why iHeart would keep KLSD 1360 alive given the very low ratings. It would seem it is these low ranking stations which don't add anything to iHeart's bottom line. I would say this about the 855 radio stations they own around the country. They are all profitability drags.

All these lower performing stations are kept for these reasons:

  1. They are part of combo sales. In the case of KLSD, they are sold along with the cluster and KOGO.
  2. They are part of national sales of syndicated talents on the iHeart syndication platform. Separate revenue stream.
  3. The sale wold likely be at a lower price than the book value, causing a nasty write-off. It is cheaper to keep them.
