The day of one of the greatest TV finales ever..

Also WTVT was probably the only CBS station in the county to air The Young and the Restless at 1pm at that time. However I recently discovered that WBTV continued to air it from 1-2pm a few months after CBS moved it to 12:30-1:30pm Eastern in June 1981 which also meant that As the World Turns aired on a 30 minute delay from 2-3pm because it also moved from 1:30-2:30 and Search for Tomorrow moved to 2:30 kicking and screaming. WBTV aired it at 10am on a day delay for a while. So turns out it wasn’t until September 1981 when WBTV moved Y&R to 10am on a one day delay. It was just over a year later when they finally moved TPIR to 10:30, Top O’The Day to 11:30 and Y&R to 12:30.

What did Siskel and Ebert preempt at 10 PM?
Here's more info on it :

That was the beginning of WTVT preempting one or more of the CBS morning game shows again. This time it was Family Feud. They were notorious for this, almost as bad as their I-4 neighbor WCPX. When CBS went full up on game shows again in Fall 1982, WTVT started with Child's Play but preempted $25K Pyramid for Soap World. But then later that Fall decided to drop Child's Play and swap Soap World to 10:30 to show $25K Pyramid which remained on the schedule for a while. The next year when Press Your Luck premiered, WTVT instead decided to show The Joker's Wild at 10:30. That was until Fall 1985 when they finally showed Press Your Luck. WTVT never showed the "4pm Death Slot" game shows so when PYL moved in January 1986 to make room for Card Sharks, PYL disappeared again. The morning game shows remained intact until Fall 1987 when WTVT decided to show Wil Shriner instead. That flopped and WTVT was back to game shows all morning the next Fall. The unfortunate thing is Tampa never saw both finales of $25K Pyramid in December 1987 and July 1988.
