All-Access : WLFP (94.1 The Wolf)/Memphis To Move To 99.7, 'Sunsetting' Hot AC WMC (FM 100)

Also, WHBQ's format is CHR-Pop.
"CHR Pop" is not a Nielsen or MediaBase accepted format. CHR, Churban, Hot AC are real options.

I listened to the wolf for about an hour this morning and near the top of the hour the legal id they aired was only for the 94.1 signal but in the middle of the stop set at about 10 before the hour I heard both 94.1 and 99.7 legal Ids.

Right now, theyve got a recorded announcer over the WMC-FM livestream feed redirecting everyone to 99.7, IDing as WLFP FM and WLFP HD1.... Over WLFPs livestream its business as usual as 99.7 the wolf..this is interesting.

I can't get 99.7 or 94.1 atm, WTJF and WWTN are overpowering both here unfortunately.

But, so far, Nielsen does not seem to be motivated to make the change and that would likely be due to owner inertia. For example, Urban One is unlikely to want this change since the title actually promotes their own corporate identity.
Urban One went back to calling their radio division as Radio One post-George Floyd so they too have pulled away. The Urban One name is the corporate name only.

My error. They do accept Pop CHR and Rhythmic CHR. I checked the actual Nielsen list.

But who looks at the format names in the actual Nielsen data? It is agency buyers and the purpose in even having format descriptions any more is to guide media buyers who often are not in market and don't know the stations. The use of "Urban" as a format descriptor creates ties with the format and the leading company in the field.

When Heather, Madison or Willow, often almost entry level buyers in New York City or Chicago or Atlanta look at buying options, they are mostly trying to match the client's target. if they know that they have no Spanish creative, anything with "Spanish" first is off. If there is a "no talk" restriction due to controversy avoidance, there is such an instruction and the buyers don't pick those stations. And if the buy is "no ethnic" because it is, for example, a white's only cosmetic, that will be specified.

My radio's pickin' up FM 100, I hear Memphis calling me homeeeeee!

Still haven't heard any IDs, other than the one that I posted previously. They must be doing a really good job at hiding the other IDs. Listening at 2:50 right now, and did not hear one during this commercial break.
