WFPG weaker signal

Hi all. Not sure any of you noticed it, but WFPG has been weaker than usual lately. I decided to email the chief engineer at Townsquare media and found out they were on their backup due to antenna issues. Just an fyi.

Good on you for actually contacting the engineer. So many on here don't bother and come up with wholly incorrect but funny theories.
 
How would you know who to contact? Ive h heard stations be out of sync on HD with the analog. i've heard channel issues too (no not lately.()
 
OTOH, when I pointed out a technical issue to WMGQ, they not only responded to me, they actually CC'd me on their internal e-mails between employees discussing it.
 
The average person more than likely wouldn't detect any issues short of "is the station even on the air" let alone worry about who to contact and then take the time to actually do it. Those that have all the time in the world, are retired or simply live at home with Mommy & Daddy would be the most likely candidates to point things out to stations that are over-worked and under-staffed. It's a sign of the times unfortunately.
 
Is their backup transmitter on top of the Hard Rock? It used to be the main transmitter for 107.3 and the Hard Rock used to be the Taj Mahal.
 
It looks as though their Aux is on top of the Showboat at significantly reduced power, 440 watts, which is plenty to cover the COL. Seems to be the case since ‘08.
 
I went to Seaside Heights this afternoon. WFPG was all static! It seemed like it was coming in a little bit on the Parkway near Lakewood/Brick
 
I've noticed this since moving back to NJ recently. WFPG used to be clear in Camden Co under regular conditions, I've only heard them blasting in with enhanced tropo conditions,
