"Maria Guel’s Mekaddesh Group Corporation has entered into a Consent Decree and granted one year renewals for seven of their stations as they have been silent for over 25% of their previous license term ending on August 1, 2021 and failed to maintain their online public files.
■ 98.7 KZAM Pleasant Valley TX’s license term began on 8/21/17. The station was silent from 2/17/21 to 2/10/22.
■ 105.1 KEVK-FM Sanderson TX’s license term began on 3/5/20 and was silent from 3/14/21 to 3/14/22.
■ 99.7 KYLQ Encinal TX’s license term began on 1/24/20 and was silent from 3/15/21 to 3/14/22.
■ 100.7 KEVQ-FM Crosbyton TX’s license term began on 2/19/20 and was silent from 3/23/21 to 3/22/22.
■ 99.9 KDSP-FM Spur TX’s license term began on 1/17/20 and was silent from 3/16/21 to 3/16/22.
■ 107.3 KEVM-FM Junction TX’s license term began on 3/5/20 and was silent from 3/23/21 to 3/22/22.
■ 96.7 KYLB Turkey TX’s license term began on 1/27/20 and was silent from 3/16/21 to 3/16/22."

The only one of these I've heard on the air is KZAM 98.7, with Regional Mexican.

Isn't it time for the FCC to look at non-compliant multi-station licensees and determine if they are fit to have any station at all... not just a short term renewal?

Presumably Mekkadesh wanted KYLQ to try and get it closer to Laredo

KELT 102.5 is owned by a Laredo business man.

There arent even 1500 people in Encinal and i dont think you really cover much else even as a full Class A.. so one station let alone 3 or 4 that are there have no chance of making any money

KZAM is a Wichita Falls rimshot... I remember before Guel bought it, it was random tunes and using Jack FM style messages (same voice and all) but not calling itself "Jack FM". Really weird.

I am curious about Mekkadesh's other station KWFG-FM on 107.3 FM in Knox City, Texas. There's no webpage for them. Radio-Locator listed them as Top 40 yet I see on Wikipedia it's listed on 106.5 FM but with no page. Anyone have any info about the station?

There are a good number of these types of operators that go in with what is essentially LPFM stations (ie: a commercial FM at 100 watts at 30 feet HAAT) that are off air way more than they are on. It's as if they are stockpiling frequencies in order to block upgrades so they can cash out eventually. That day may never come given the current state of radio.

You'll find 100 watters in towns of 100-200 people supposedly on the air running the 'parent' ministry when they're on.

Might I refer you to 93.9 in Groveton, Texas? Prime example of this very statement. It keeps anyone else from restoring the channel in Lufkin, after KAGZ moved off of it. You'd think somebody would have wanted to give it a go by this point. Apparently, not. It's still a flea power Class A, strictly heard within the town's limits. Heading either way on 287, you reach Groveton, there's KFON. Now leaving Groveton? Now leaving coverage area of KFON, and when it drops it drops out all the way. In a vehicle. Barely a mile wide coverage.

As for KFON I thought North Texas Radio Group, L.P. was good at keeping stations on, but they currently have a STA filed last year in September with no extension and no resumption.

"The transmitter has failed possibly due to an antenna problem. It is being
investigated what will need to be repaired or replaced."

They just might not be able to get anyone out there to investigate......
