WBZ 8pm Traffic

When 8pm hits on WBZ - the anchor Nichole Davis and the traffic reporter Dan Mazella seem to have a more energenic back and forth. Doesn't seem the other anchors and traffic reporters do that.

What, you've never heard the interaction between Jeff Brown and Lori Grande in morning drive; Laurie Kirby and Kevin Brennan in midday; Ben Parker and Nichole Davis with Gina Tempesta? In every instance, there's certainly banter. And that includes how the anchors in general interact with the Bloomberg business reporters (when they're live), or with the AccuWeather personnel (when they're live).

Before joining BZ Nicole Davis worked as a traffic and news reporter for Metro/Westwood One. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but Nicole worked along side Gina Tempesta, Kevin Brennan and Kristin Eck for several years. And for 10 points can you name the traffic reporter for BZ and BZ News Anchor who are married to each other?

Well Rob Hakala and Laurie Kirby WERE married to each other at one point does that count.

I love Lori Grande in AM drive, when I am in FL for the winter I wake up to WBZ on my Alexa just to listen to her.

She is equally as nice off the radio too

You are correct. I did not know that Rob and Laurie Kirby were no longer married

Nicole and Dan are fun to listen to getting into the Nightside program. I like her occasional banter with Dan Rea too about baseball. I did not know she worked with Gina and the other traffic reporters, that would explain their ease in discussion. From what I know radio is a close knit group and it must be fun for them to work together.

It's funny. My former co worker Steve Perez does the overnight and the later it gets the funnier he gets. But other than him it seems the entire overnight is recorded, including the news. Which is too bad because Steve is really talented but has no one to talk to. He was good on WFNX with Henry Santoro but if you ever heard him with Ted Panos during lockdown on WCAP, then you know how great that was. It's a shame he's on so late.
