"Whoa" is a bit right. Stuff to talk about!

WMGK- Never been that high in any format. When was the last time a station pulled a 10+ share when it wasn't Christmas season? Any of that for the DeBella goodbye?

WTDY's changes finally breathed some life into the station. Down a bit from last month, but well above the doldrums they were occupying for the longest time.

WIP and WPEN both down. WPEN to some dire vanity numbers. I get it's the slow sports season, and WIP will bounce back once the Eagles kick into gear.

WBEN- Above a 5 share? Also impressive. Keeping pace with WOGL.

And noted from a different market, KITS- Live 105 surged in it's first month back as Alternative. Between that, the re-launch of 99x as Classic Alternative doing fairly well....... c'mon Radio One. You know you wanna...

WIOQ down to #14 going from 3.1 to 2.6. They usually do well in the summer. Surprised the station hasn't flipped. ditto for WRFF.

Possibly a combo of the DeBella goodbye and the Memorial Day stunt.

WIOQ won't flip any time soon. A couple of bad months does not equal a flip. It's still making money for iHeart, and they'll respond as they need to to a resurgent WTDY.

WRFF also seems weirdly safe, even with low billing. It fits a position for iHeart until something else possibly comes along.

ditto ditto for WUMB...
I'm assuming you mean WUMR. The station hasn't set the world on fire, but it's specifically targeting a certain audience, and can bill well selling to that audience. Massive numbers aren't needed for them to be successful (although iHeart would enjoy it)

When was the last time WPEN, even going back to when it was WPST, was below 1.0 in Philly? Wow...

That's an expensive format to run with a share in the low 1's. You have to think Beasley could put almost anything else on that stick with 1/3 of the staff and, even if they only pulled a 1, make more.

Classic country with 1 or 2 local shows and the rest voice-tracked feels like it would fit right in with the cluster.

I've wondered that too. I know they bill decently since they get male ears listening to the station even with the low overall numbers.

How did Beasley do so well launching The Sports Hub 98.5 in Boston and overtaking WEEI, but in Philly, The Fanatic has fallen mostly flat? Are we in Philly THAT reluctant to something different, and always tune into what we always have? (Action News, WIP, B101 etc.)

And the attempts made in that space in Philly didn’t make the same impact. Missanelli was their last competitive PM drive host, and his schtick wore thin long ago. Gargano in the morning? Not exactly the best poach in the history of poaching.

The mythical “Philly won’t change” ignores that it’s when the leaders falter people certainly move on—not all, of course. But under Audacy, the B isn’t near what it was under Jerry Lee. People moved on. WIP has generally not faltered that badly or for that long at a time. Granted, having the Eagles and Phillies helped, while the 76ers and Flyers have been in also-ran status for a good chunk of their time on the Fanatic.
