102.3 WAIV

I saw on radio insight that Equity Communications is selling 102.3 WAIV. How is WAYV's signal in Lower Township, NJ?

95.1 WAYV signal can have some interface during summer months down in lower township but decent signal most of the year. Seems like Equity is selling off their smaller duplicate signals in Cape May County. They sold off 105.5, now 102.3. Wonder if 93.1 will be next.

I remember when I was a kid hearing 95.1 WAYV
(on 95.1) on one of these cheap $5 Wal-Mart radios
near the Boardwalk in Wildwood.
It was a bit weak but it came in a little better
than it did at my home near Toms River,
and this was before there was any simulcast,
in the late 1990s. So on a decent radio,
I know 95.1 is listenable there.

60 dbu signal goes down to Stone Harbor
and Cape May Court House (Middle Township)
only about 5 miles north of Wildwood
and 10 miles from Cape May Point,
so most the area should have a decent signal
without a need for a simulcast
(weaker in buildings tho)

I wonder what will go on 102.3? Do you think they will put WAYV on 93.1 in lieu of having it on 102.3?

According to various trade reports, Mighty Voice Broadcasting is Jim Weller and Colin Walls, operator of LPTV station 'TV Delmarva Channel 14'. This will be their first radio station and the call letters are expected to change to WNJD.

There's no reporting on what the format will be but it may be worth mentioning that TV Delmarva is not a religious channel, its website is focused on local news.

95.1 WAYV does suffer from tropo during the summer. 95.1 in Allentown, Baltimore, and North Carolina would wreak havoc on WAYV south of Sea Isle during tropo. Meanwhile, WAYV would blast in like a local across Long Island.
Summer is the peak season at the Jersey shore. So they suffer even more from tropo.

I wonder if they're going to move WEZW to another station or WAIV to another station or add boosters?
It sort of seemed that they didn't really have a use for 93.1 after the decision to simulcast WMID. The previous Soft AC sounds were very enjoyable and I recall hearing the station in many businesses and shops, especially in Cape May where demos are a bit more conducive for such a format. Sure, the same could be said about WMID but it does lose the "mellow flavor" that once occupied 93.1 FM. They do have The Touch and The Buzz so anything is possible if they are that passionate about the FM presence for WMID. $70k seems like a drop in the bucket for EMF and once again a wise move for Equity to sell to a non-competitor. Granted it's a bit more populated and further north, but Longport Media sold 102.7 to EMF in 2019 for $570k... WOW! Do they air K-Love or Air1 on the new stick given the overlap?
