Cleveland Radio June 23 Ratings

May I recommend two streaming services: Radio Paradise (their main mix is fabulous) at Commercial Free - Listener Supported. A

The problem with streaming radio is it operates under the DMCA, which burdens programmers with rules about how many songs by one artist or from one album you can play. A simple idea of doing a memorial radio show for Randy Meisner becomes more complicated when you're required to obtain waivers from all of the owners of Meisner's music. Fortunately those rules don't apply to broadcast.

Absolutely as I'm Catholic myself. I should have worded that differently but I was thinking about how I learned about Godspell and it was when I was in Catholic grade school and the soundtrack was popular then as compared to Jesus Christ Superstar which was considered more"edgy" and controversial although that was popular as well. This was at the time when guitar/folk groups were popular in some churches and music was changing compared to the old hymns.
Thanks for the update. "Jesus Christ Superstar" was a 1969-1970 item. "Godspell was 1973.

Godspell actually goes back to 1971 when it was off Broadway and later became a movie in 1973. But I don't recall hearing about it until a bit later so some songs/movies take time to filter down to the larger audience.

I was wrong. The hit single, "Godspell" was a hit in mid-1972. My bad. Sorry.

This, combined with the pandemic-related collapse in local advertising, were what sank oWow in late 2020.

WOBL/WDLW, from all reports, is on the verge of bankruptcy and let go almost all of their staff.
I looked on a hunch and you're right. WOBL has only one weekday air personality left (who is also a sports announcer) and they are running brokered programming in various times billed as "podcasts". WDLW is a mess with an irregular schedule and I doubt anyone is full-time. Whatever news presence was had on either station is effectively gone completely.

It looks really dire and is sad to see.
