I honestly don't see why SBS hasn't sold WRAZ yet. It's a rimshot, and literally half the people in it's coverage area probably don't even know it exists.
It's a simulcast with WXDJ and adds to the very southernmost part of Dade with a very good signal there. The new transmitter site puts a usable signal up to about Goulds, and adds to WXDJ's coverage with a much better signal than all but WRTO in South Dade.I honestly don't see why SBS hasn't sold WRAZ yet. Wait, they shutdown Salsa 106.3? When did that happen? It's a simulcast with WXDJ and adds to the very southernmost part of Dade with a very good signal there. WXDJ is listed by Nielsen as a simulcast with WRAZ and WMFM. However, the website shows it to be Salsa 106.3. I'm too far away to monitor, but I suspect a confusion of the simulcast with the Nielsen listing where they show a WXDJ simulcast when, actually, WXDJ appears to have Salsa 106.3 as a simulcast on the HD-2 channel.Wait, they shutdown Salsa 106.3? Strange. It's most likely an error.WXDJ is listed by Nielsen as a simulcast with WRAZ and WMFM. However, the website shows it to be Salsa 106.3. I'm going to inquire as to whether Nielsen has an error there.
Sounds like the "error" that Estrella Media made with its non-simulcasts in LA and Houston.Strange. It's most likely an error.
Except Salsa 106.3 simulcasts on WCMQ's HD, not WXDJ's HD.WXDJ is listed by Nielsen as a simulcast with WRAZ and WMFM. However, the website shows it to be Salsa 106.3. But that is not what is registered with Nielsen. Someone, accidentally or not, confused call letters and HD channels.Except Salsa 106.3 simulcasts on WCMQ's HD, not WXDJ's HD.
The HD channel is simulcast on W292GE 106.3 in Miami, ostensibly to give it more of a presence in Miami proper and take care of WRAZ's signal issues.
Yeah, I've heard a few La Nueva 106.3 IDs over on BostonRadio.org. I'm pretty sure it was more of a semi-simulcast.Also, SBS did sell WRAZ once, or at least put in an LMA.
WGNK used it as a simulcast for its Christian format. For some reason it did not work out, despite it filling out spots that the northern WGNK signal did not cover.
Ah, so WRAZ still is Salsa 106.3.I live in northern Miami-Dade. Here's my status report as of 2:25 p.m. ET on Sun., Aug. 6th, 2023.
I can hear WRAZ Salsa 106.3 from my Sangean MMR-99, but the signal is not all the way clear. Yes, you can hear it but its more fringy where I live, which probably means its not even heard in Broward at all. I have my antenna all the way up but its still fringy.
They don't promote this station at all which is bonkers to me but it also makes sense if portions of South Florida can't even hear the signal or is very fringy where they are.
Salsa 106.3 is still up on the air.WXDJ is listed by Nielsen as a simulcast with WRAZ and WMFM. However, the website shows it to be Salsa 106.3.
