96.5 to Country

Direct listeners to 95.7 and 102.5 accordingly and make format adjustments to each of those to attract 96.5 former listeners. 96.5 goes country with 10,000 songs in a row and runs promotions and TV spots like gangbusters.

Done.

Were they not rumored to flip to country when they were being acquired from Audacy from the CBS deal? But Hubbard beat them to it.

Would any of this make sense?

Stop paying for the Jack format, start clearing Bobby Bones in Seattle, Country music playing what we want. I'm sure iHeart has more country stations than Jacks in the portfolio. Lots of country resources to throw into the mix. Spice up the package deal for advertisers.

The way iHeart is with national sales they probably can monetize it fast. With the way 96.5 is technically structured it would be very simple to flip it to County. You will think they flew in talent to voice track from Seattle! Well until they get that AI thing from really sating what it wants.

From my perspective, I would imagine that iheart would want to maintain a complete monopoly on all classic hits/adult hits in the market. Seattle is their largest market where they have total and complete control over the market for “older” music, and I’m not sure they would ever want to give that up without significant research.

If Seattle no longer seems to be able to support two country stations (three if you include KXA 1520), why would anyone want to flip Jack to country? I suppose putting out such speculations is fun, but I don't see another country station happening.

I do beleive they tried country on 96.5 once. If I remember right, there was alot of echo for whatever reason. I do beleive I still have a staff jean jacket hanging in my closet that I keep thinking about throwing out yet never have.

If iHeart is going to flip anything to country, it won't be 96.5, that does too well. I'd say in order of most to least likely frequencies to flip would be 101.5, 106.1, and 93.3.

Oh that's right, has it been six months yet? Hmmm... sure has been Bob. 93.3 is still sports.

Maybe that's it. Ms. Cobra is stuck in some sort of time warp, and she's listening to 'Kickin Country' wondering why everyone here is talking about JackFM. Time to send an E-mail to Irwin Allen to see if we can rescue Cobra by borrowing The Time Tunnel.
Wait, Irwin Allen is dead? So much for that idea.

I seem to remember that Jack had a sounder at one point I want to say in 2009 that said phone lines would be open for the next two decades. Wouldn't that be wild if Jack actually did hit the road in 2029? That's still six years from now, so we may be talking about a hole for a format that doesn't exist today.
