Some of the issues surrounding Fox News between 2020-2023 was very scary given that it was when a pandemic was at it's height and also we ran into the allegations of Fox News violating US Sanctions on Russia when Putin attacked Ukraine.There are plenty of stories about times and ways the country as a whole had to pull together in the past to do things, or to get certain vaccines or to do something not just for them, but for the good of their fellow man, and at least some of those would never happen today. Personally, many of the things we were asked to do in order to help at least slow not only a nationwide but a worldwide pandemic just seemed to be just common sense and were rooted in medical science. Unfortunately many Einsteins out there who barely passed high school thought they knew better than epidemiologists who've been deeply educated and deal with this stuff for a living. They were bolstered and cheered on by the leader of the free world, who was being guided by his "gut feeling".
"I have a Constitutional right to buy gas any day I want!"Just like a petulant 4 year old, the MAGA folks said "I am not going to get vacinated and you can't make me. Nah Nah Nah." Those of us who are old enogh remember that just about everyone wanted the polio vacine. Makes you wonder how people today would have handled the restrictions of WW2 when the whole country pulled together to win the war.
Giving a little balance to this: The new administration touted the vaccine as being as preventing the disease and its contagion.Personally, many of the things we were asked to do in order to help at least slow not only a nationwide but a worldwide pandemic just seemed to be just common sense and were rooted in medical science. I remember quite a bit of that during the 1973 Arab oil embargo. Lots of complaints about gas rationing."I have a Constitutional right to buy gas any day I want!"
I may be wrong, and I'm sure if that's the case you'd be able to produce articles or statements to prove it, but I thought that was nearly always the stated situation with the Covid vaccine: It wasn't necessarily a full-on "prevention", but it would at minimum lessen the effects for at least most, and depending on things like age and risk factors, it may keep some out of the hospital who may have been admitted otherwise, and most importantly, kept others out of the morgue who may have died from the disease had they not had the jab.Giving a little balance to this: The new administration touted the vaccine as being as preventing the disease and its contagion.
I was there the first day that anyone other than health care workers could get the first shot. So, I am not in denial or an objector.
But I was promised something that was not true. The vaccine did not do what my 50's polio shot did in that it did not prevent my getting COVID nor would it prevent me from passing it to others if I should get it.
From what I understand, the vaccine was originally formulated for the first virus but was less effective for the variants, but still kept people out of the hospital. My wife and I outran the virus for 2 years (no, not by hiding in the basement as those of us who took precautions are accused of) before finally getting breakthrough cases. Had the government gone full "let it rip" as some of our leaders wanted us to (no vaccines, no precautions, no work-from-home, nothing closed or cancelled) and we had gotten it we may not have survived. As it was we felt like crap for a couple of days and apparently no lingering effects. Thank God and science (and even Dolly Parton, who contributed financially for the research at Vanderbilt) for the vaccine.I may be wrong, and I'm sure if that's the case you'd be able to produce articles or statements to prove it, but I thought that was nearly always the stated situation with the Covid vaccine: It wasn't necessarily a full-on "prevention", but it would at minimum lessen the effects for at least most, and depending on things like age and risk factors, it may keep some out of the hospital who may have been admitted otherwise, and most importantly, kept others out of the morgue who may have died from the disease had they not had the jab.

The other sources were people hyping horse paste, or saying Covid was harmless so let 'er rip, or Texas Lt. Gov Dan Patrick saying that older and immunocompromised people should die for the economy, because I'm sure if we killed everyone in your or my town who has high blood pressure, it would have no effect on the economy whatsoever. "Why isn't anybody serving me curly fries!"Giving a little balance to this: The new administration touted the vaccine as being as preventing the disease and its contagion.

As time went by, I learned that the vaccine reduced the chance of death if I got COVID. It did nothing else, and I felt that I had been given a big dose of hype. Had I known the real facts, I still would have been there the first day. But I believe I was lied to by the new administration and spokespersons like Fauci, who changed his narrative multiple times over the next two years.
As someone who has had malaria and dengue and a couple of other tropical diseases, I am a firm believer in vaccination, whether to reduce or avoid a disease. I am not a believer in government dialogue in this kind of situation.
The annual flu shot does not prevent the flu. It prevents some variants and avoids severe cases for others. The COVID shot should have been introduced in that context, and not as something that it was not. Going into year 2 of the pandemic, I felt that anything Fauci was saying was a lie and government propaganda, and looked elsewhere for truth.
That’s correct. When discussing labor shortages no one mentions everyone who died from COVID (nor the limits on immigration.).Gov Dan Patrick saying that older and immunocompromised people should die for the economy, because I'm sure if we killed everyone in your or my town who has high blood pressure, it would have no effect on the economy whatsoever. "Why isn't anybody serving me curly fries!"
I'm about to start a new job (Back in IT) with a hospital system and I was definitely asked if I had been vaccinated for COVID and I believe they had every right to because of it being in the medical industry, even though I might not have any contact with patients.
He probably should be Trump's VP pick...peas in a pod.Getting back to the original question;
Could Tucker Carlson End Up On Talk Radio?
Hasn't happened yet, has it? No radio syndicator in their right mind (pun intended) would be willing to put someone that cost Fox three-quarters of a billion dollars, plus legal fees, on their radio group or network. The man is persona non grata.
And, at the same time, he could make more money doing a podcast.Getting back to the original question;

Without the captive Fox News audience, Tucker is gradually becoming less relevant. He believed that his brand was bigger than Fox, but like any true egotistical narcissist, Tucker thought he became bigger than Fox. A recent example was his Twitter/X exclusive interview with Trump didn't do that well. An example of his fate, one needs to look no further than Bill O'Reilly. He's still around, but a drop of water in a swimming pool as compared with his stint on Fox News.And, at the same time, he could make more money doing a podcast.
And at least one of those writer/producers made $12M after suing Tucker and Fox for creating a hostile work environment. Between the Dominion defamation settlement and various staff suits, and settlements, Newscorp will likely be out over a billion, with Tucker being a leading reason why.Tucker had writers when doing his FNC show. You could tell, just watching the shows. Maybe he did some of the writing, or editing, but his monologues were scripted, and I'm sure he had writers doing most of it.
I agree, but submit the days of some new wildly popular 'conservative' (right-wing) purely radio talk show host is officially over. The audience continues to die-off with no new, let alone chances for growth, coming in.The point being that talk radio would be a completely different animal, and there would be no guarantee that a large number of stations would pick him up -- even if he didn't have the legal issues he had that got him kicked off Fox Cable News.
Just not enough money, combined with the potential liability risks. That's the bottom line.Just because one is a conservative on media it doesn't necessarily follow that they will or would make a successful talk host on radio.
So yeah, it's no surprise he didn't go for a talk radio gig.
