I listened to Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 this morning and Rick’s voice sounded deeper than it was 25 years ago when I listened to it regularly. Does anyone else notice that?

One of the first CHR stations I worked for (pre-automation, live jocks or board ops 24/7) used to run Rick Dees on Sunday mornings from 6 - 10 a.m. The PD there at the time basically created a shift from late Saturday night until Sunday morning that could be run by board ops so he could slot non-AFTRA staff or interns in to run that shift if need be, in case he needed to pull a weekend jock to work through the week or someone needed a weekend shift off. He programmed a bartered music mix program until 5, then Powerline with Brother Jon Rivers from 5 - 5:30, a pre-recorded 30 minute spoken word program that satisfied their 30 minute per week community service requirement, then Rick Dees and the Weekly Top 40 from 6 - 10 when local jocks would take over again.
