ESPN radio Hartford changing formats?

Again, the dilemma. A juicy tidbit barricaded behind a paywall. Do I pay for a month of RI just to read one article, with no guarantee that I'll ever want to read another in those 30 days, or do I just wait for the news to be leaked elsewhere or formally announced publicly?

It is a $5 question I ask myself alot.

I subscribe for a month last year just to find out about the then soon to launch R&B format at 102.5/1470 WBOM.

Well, since I don't live in CT anymore I guess I'll just wait and find out what happens (or doesn't happen) when whatever the news is goes public. WUCS is a horrible signal, especially to the south and east. I wonder if they're just breaking up with ESPN or changing format. If the latter, would any of the full-market FMs flip, or would sports be scattered among various stations, primarily WTIC(AM)?

Personally, it’s worth it to me. $5 is a drop in the bucket compared to other monthly expenses. (And I’m supporting an independently run business, which I advocate for.)

I thought the Pats were there this year.
IIRC, the last year I was in Connecticut (2021), both the Giants and Pats were on WTIC. If both teams were playing at the same time, then 1080 would take the Giants and the Pats would have no Hartford affiliate, but all the Pats games were on powerhouse WAQY Springfield, so that signal took care of most of the Hartford area,

WFAN has such a strong signal into CT that 1080 isn't really needed either.

That’s a good thing
I wouldn't trust a site like that, anyway. As is the case with many foreign-based pirate streaming sites, it is likely to push malware into users' computers. The .io suffix on the URL is often a sign of an illegal operation registered on the other side of the world (in this case, on an island in the Indian Ocean) where it can flourish out of the reach of US authorities.

With some paywalls you can go to xxxxxx paste the link and remove them, not RadioInsight's though.
So we're now advocating outright content theft here now? Let's put it this way, if you use any of those sites to block paywalls you deserve any bad thing that happens to you. Let's put it this way... I keep RadioInsight's subscription affordable because I am a radiogeek, but I've been asked by actual executives in the industry why I don't charge hundreds for the services I provide in helping break moves from competitors. Posts like this make me strongly reconsider my position.

Nah, I’m good. I’d rather pay Lance $5/month for info than infect my computer/phone with viruses from a sketchy site because ‘I’m too cheap and selfish.’

(And to second Lance’s comment, it’s comments like yours that ruin a service for everybody.)
