Looks like the format will continue on KKBQ 92.9 HD-2.Question: Without any conflict does anybody know when the KTHT 97.1 country legends will be history??
Although it will not be under the same branding or on the same frequency, I've been told by an individual in the market that the classic country format will continue OTA, following the demise of 97.1.Looks like the format will continue on KKBQ 92.9 HD-2.
Oh? So there IS a broadcaster willing to take a chance on the format in Houston?Although it will not be under the same branding or on the same frequency, I've been told by an individual in the market that the classic country format will continue OTA, following the demise of 97.1.
Well...I actually said in the market. It's a big market, you know. 😂Oh? So there IS a broadcaster willing to take a chance on the format in Houston?

One fun fact I learned recently. There’s more high schools in the greater Houston area than there are in the entire state of LouisianaWell...I actually said in the market. It's a big market, you know. 😂
Is KHGV changing formats?could it be at 99.7?
Is KHGV changing formats?
I had heard that KORG was flipping to Classic Country, which would probably do well in the Cleveland area. Listening to their stream, it seems that the change has already taken place, and their playlist appears to be much larger than the 200 songs Country Legends seemed to have in rotation.I could see it not moving too far and going somewhere like KORG-LP
I doubt it... the "country mix" format on KVST does pretty well up on this side of town, but stranger things have happened.Perhaps 99.7 in Conroe
They’re actually transmitting in HuntsvillePerhaps 99.7 in Conroe
If I’m looking at the right station? But, radio-locator has three signals at 99.7 in Houston. I don’t think any of them go past 100 watts. I could be wrongPerhaps 99.7 in Conroe
The primary KVST tower is between Conroe and Huntsville. The station superserves Montgomery and Walker counties. They’re actually transmitting in Huntsville
There are three LPFMs on 99.7 in the Houston-Galveston area: KOYM, KHGV, and KLHG.If I’m looking at the right station? But, radio-locator has three signals at 99.7 in Houston. I don’t think any of them go past 100 watts. I could be wrong
It would be even more interesting if the actual KIKK 650 flipped to the format. What would really be a home run for this little station is if they could garner some of the disc jockeys who were fired en masse when Westinghouse bought KIKK in 1993, and give them carte blanche to recreate the Classic KIKK on KORG.
And the KVST signal regularly interferes with them. The primary KVST tower is between Conroe and Huntsville. The station superserves Montgomery and Walker counties.

But it continues to be a factor south of Loop 610, where it regularly interferes with KHGV in particular.KVST is receivable in north Harris County but is not really a factor there.
You must be talking about tropos. I have not heard interference within their protected contour before. Unlike 94.1 KBIH-LP or 92.5 KJJG-LP nearby. And the KVST signal regularly interferes with them.
